🏆 HD Level Design Contest #1 is OPEN! Contestants must create a maze with at least one entry point, and at least one exit point. The map should be made in HD mode, and should not be openable in SD. Only custom models from Hive's HD model and texture sections are allowed. The only exceptions are DNC models and omnilights. This is mainly a visual and design oriented contest, not technical. Its a 2d platform game. The goals are different and depend on mode:
CTF - capture flag and score
DM / LMS - kill your enemies
Knockback - throw them on map borders

Controls:
- walk - side arrows
- jump - up arrow (while on ground)
- jetpack - up arrow (while in air)
- fire main weapon - right click
- throw granade - hold down arrow + right click
- select weapon - click on images while dead
Players can be divided in 2 teams or play FFA.
Modes are Deathmatch, Last Man Standing (like round in warlock) and CTF.
Weapons: Cannon Rifle Bow Flamethrower Machinegun Shredder Shotgun
Granades: Standard Slow
What is new:
- SLOW granades - they slow everything in the area (including missiles and players)
- new arena
- Knockback mode
- air friction
- improved choosing mode
- host can give setup control to other people

- arrows get stuck if they hit walls

- its possible to change the "host"

I`ve played map like this before, and was great. This is a lot better. And additionally AI. But you should write, that gold is an ammo, and somewhere put how much jetpack is still. But anyway 4/5.
It was pretty cool, but the lag was insane. Also, my team shooted me all the time! (Computers.) They stood there and shooted everyone. It has potential to become awesome like Soldiers, 3/5.

! There are no decorations currently, because the arenas are loaded from database when you select them. (The map is cleared and new walls / tiles are set).
I can think of some loadable destructables though. - It should be possible to add some of the maps used in original soldat.

Man..... flames07 can you do some research before suggesting that its a ripped off version of soldiers. There is such a game called Soldat and all Demestotenes was to create a wc3 version of it.
(1) Both maps are based on the PC game (you can dl to see: http://soldat.pl ). The concept is invented neither by me nor by exilus.
(2) Even if the concept is simmilar, the maps have significant differences - first you should see it.

3 suggestion:
u could add power up mode. where u can find double dmg, health and other power ups (like in quake).
more map and write near maps how hard are they. (like where u can falldown easily is hard map, where u cant is easy map)
list commands in F9.
very fun map, keeps you entertained for a long time. i found a bug though, on knockback, you can just stay running agains a wall, like in a corner, and theres like no way to get them away from there.

arrow deals 60 dmg, and rifle deals 35. w00t? AAAND... cannon deals 65 dmg - 5 more than arrow. Ok, maybe it is like that in the original game (i haven't played it) but really, you need to balance it.
ohh i remember soldat 4 years ago i loved that game.it would be kool if you had a rambo mode like in the game,where the guy with the mega bow is rambo and u have to kill him to get the bow for yourself.anyway nice map
This is such a great game. Perfect in every way I can think of, except that no one ever joins it anymore. But, that's not your fault. It's Dota's. Stupid Dota.

I did like this, but there are a few things it needs:
1: Headshots! A SHOOTER NEEDS HEADSHOTS!
2: This is optional, but I'd like announcements such as killing spree, double kill, etc.
3: This is optional, but I was thinking: If it takes two grenades to kill someone who doesn't even have shields, then shouldn't the grenades be smaller? At the moment, assuming a person is 6 ft, the grenades are spheres about 2 feet in diameter. The diameter should be cut at least in half, preferably in fourth, and they need to be thrown much faster. At the moment a thrown grenade travels only about 20-40 feet. Also, your movement speed while throwing should affect the speed of the thrown grenade.
4: This is optional, but I think you would need to increase the projectile speed of the bow. It doesn't make much sense for a bow that only shoots 50 meters to deal 60 damage while a heavy machine gun deals 7.5 damage. Bows seem "cool" but really just aren't at all realistic. I would suggest inputting an actual high-powered rifle which deals 60 damage, and 120 damage with headshots, and is bolt-action without a clip (move bolt side, back, insert shot, bove bolt forward side) in between each shot. This would work similarly to the bow, in the way that it must be reloaded after each shot.
