Lurkers? People that download the resources? Common sense?

But I'm sure plenty do anyway.

I have been watching wc3campaigns since I have registered at wc3search (actually I discovered it even earlier, but I did not find it useful), however much less frequently, but I still do not have an account there.

I would rather say, some many members, so few models. On wcsearch was on average 1 model a day. Of course, when people discovered how to extract models from wow, there was 10 average per day

A system of auto deliting inactive accounts with less than 10 posts if they do not post for a month I think is reccomended since it will delete all thoes un used accounts, freeing server space and increasing speed (a bit) while making sure that people who are very bussy but common posters do not get discriminated.

Since I am sure no one will care if thoes accounts that are created with few posts and are inactive are removed.

most of the people that registered came from sear, they registered to post maps. (that they found "cool" and bnet, but had no idea who the author is)

Thats the truth of it.
Personally I have NO idea what I contribute.
Oh, wait.
NOTHING.

WOW! Deleting user accounts! Freeing up a WHOLE KILOBYTE OF SPACE! The speed increase will be astronomical!

If you couldn't tell, I was being sarcastic

I know it hardly makes a difference but all I was saying was what is the point of keeping nonused accounts since all they do is nothing next to take up 1 KB of space.

Im not saying it is vital im saying it would help make the site "seem" more active and efficent than it already is although it will not.

if they want just the 1 model request, and theyonly post for 1 thing, why dont they just get the email of a good modeller *looks at wulfy* then they should just ask and wait for a reply, if its yes, then you have your model, if its no then it'll be time to start deleting ALOT of spam, then dont accept email from the nubz

because why should we care for them?

and mirror, not all n00bs have an avatar or sig, actualy 1% of those that ran away, had sig or avatar, others 99% had no avatar or signature :p

An account like mine consists of mostly values and numbers and since all posts of mine are traceable I estimate about 3-4 KB are used up to store accounts of famous people (like mecheon with about 3500 posts).
But most of the space an accout can take up is from the avatars and sigs which the mods allow you to use a total of 2 MB to store them in but like stated eariler ALMOST ALL of theses "1 post then leave" accounts NEVER have an avatar or sig so thus take up probably less than 1 KB and thus are no issue.

If all inactive accounts of 1 posters are deleted the space freed would maybe be enough for one very simple modle or map and not much more.

The only reason I think deleting them is a good idea is it improves the sites image by showing the mods keep their site neet and clean and free of usless stuff.

But like the mods are saying they are REALLY bussy at the moment with the server swap and trying to get something as simple as the jass tags to work is taking ages so deleting unused accounts would only make them more stressed and overworked than they aready are. . .

Maybe this topic should be remade in about 6 months when mods have fixed all the faults and the recource section is finnaly organized since at the moment who the hell cares if there are unused accounts when things as simple as the jass tags are not functioning.
