Sliding bones?

I am working on my first model, and it is a wasp.
I am currently rigging the bones into the model and have stumbled a bit.
I want the stinger to be able to come out of the abdomen but I am not sure how to rig the bones, I would like it so I could just move the bone, but when I connect it to the abdomen bone it wont let me move the stinger bone anymore.
Is there a way I can connect them but have the stinger be able to move back and forth?

Also while I have your attention, would having fins on your bones cause problems somehow?

I guess this thread can be deleted. I have found a way to make it look like stinger is coming out by scaling the bone.
The answer would still be useful though.
