.sit issue on mac

I'm having issues with downloads. Whenever I download something with the extension .sit then try to open it it always tries to open with ROC. I've tried changing the extension to .zip but I just get an error message that says I can't unarchive it (which kinda makes sense). So what shall I do? BTW I run a mac.

First make sure you have Stuffit Expander (Or Stuffit Deluxe) on your computer. Then if the file doesn't automatically adjust to open with Stuffit, select the file and get info (Command-I). It should come up with something like the attached image. Click on the Open With drop down menu and select Stuffit. Then it should work.
