what base ability could bost an unit's sight range? or which trigger would fit it? i am so lost here, if anyone has any idea, post it here, thanks!

I would say ultravision but it only work during night.

I believe it was the Goblin Scope thingy item that has increased sight, or was it the gem?

It was the scope but its the same concept its based off ultravision and only increase vision at night.

Yeah, there's an item ability called sight-range bonus. That's what you're looking for.
