set unit sound set to 0

For my special hero i needed to play all his sounds by triggers. Ofcourse this doesent make his portrait use talk animation.
Now i was thinking of some sort of sollution:
In object editor set unit sound set to (some unit i dont use anyway)
then in sound editor put the volume of that units sound set to 0.

But how can i make all sounds of some unit be put to 0?

Or is there an other way to make the portrait talk whenever he is issued an order?

Just go to the sound editor, go to the Bandit sounds, right click -> replace with external source, pick your sound. Repeat until all bandit sounds are replaced, then set the sound of your hero to the bandit sound.

Any idea were i can get a 2 sec duration sound, with very low filesize without any real sound in it?:D

damn i looked at the file size of the map.
before using the sound
3.077kB
after i used the sound
4.134kB

please help me for a better sollution:(

Lemme guess, you replaced all of the bandit sounds with the 2 second silenced sound?

So about 140kb * 16 sounds?

Why do you want to play the hero sounds through triggers? If you don't want the unit to say anything but still use the talk portrait, give it the sound set of the Ziggurat and replace the ZigguratWhat.wav file. The location is Buildings\Undead\Ziggurat\ZigguratWhat.wav

Well i got the Druid of Claw as hero and he has the bear form ability. But since i have some trigger things on him i cant use the normal bear ability. Whenever my bear form ability is used it just adds stats and i add the animation tag alternate. I dont think theres a way to chance unit sound set, or is there? That would be much better ofcourse.


Anyway i tried the ziggurat option, but the portrait animations dont work. I must use a unit sound set that has atleast What, Yes, YesAttack, and Death sounds

Unfortunetly i cant use morph abilities, since the hero has spell book with over 90 spells:p making all these spells pernament is much work and no option aswell for in my game. (not making pernament means they will all be gone after morph) anyway i changed the sounds for archnatid (that scorpion creep) and now my filesize is only increased 230kB! still pretty much, but the best option for me i think
