Selection of a unit during game

Hi everybody,

I was wondering if someone had an answer to the fallowing question:

I've imported a model in my map and it works properly but the fact is that this model is suppose to be a doodad...but since my map is for Reign of Chaos I can only change the model file for a 'Unit' or an 'Item'...cause if I change the model file for a 'Doodad' or a 'Destructibles' or 'Agility' or ... (in the Object Editor) World Editor will say that I'll need the expantion set to make it work...so I was asking myself is there a way to make a units unselectable in game so that it can work as a doodad (for RoC)???

Well guys maybe I didn't explain myself clearly:) I know my Enlgish is not that good since I'm Italian but I'll try to re-explain my problem..at least I'll try hoping that this time you understand me:)

First of all, I said in my first thread "I've imported a model" which means that I use TFT world editor cause normally with RoC world editor you can't import files...

Now, I'm making a maze map that need to work in RoC...
I've imported a model file that i took from this website (it's a 'street lamp')...
It would be silly from me to save a 'street lamp' as a unit or an item thing that I can only do if I want my map to work in RoC
Cause if I do so, my 'street lamp' will be selectable in game by the players and there might be some missclicks from them and they'll go out of path and die...
But if I save my model in doodas, destructibles,...world editor will ask me that I'll need the expantion set to play my map..which means that my map can only be played on TFT:(..but I need my map to work in RoC...is there a solution??
I hope this time I got myself clear:)

You cannot have custom abilities either, are you sure you want it to be RoC-compatible? :D

There's no way you can do this via objects.

Maybe try out the
  • Special Effect - Create a special effect at <Some Point> using <Your Model>
and place a pathing blocker at the same point if you want collisions.
(You cannot rotate it though :C)

hmm only TFT allows that then...
no wait
still there are trees in RoC and they are unclickable
