Searching for: Starcraft Terrans style building addon system

In Starcraft Terrans can build addons for their production structures, which then store some upgrades and serve as prequisites for units, can have mana and cast spells(com-sat) or even in the case of nuke silo can produce unit.

I searched for a bit and couldnt find it, had this been re-created in wc3 before or doesnt exist/not possible to do ?
