Scarlet Crusade Priest.blp

This bundle is marked as useful / simple. Simplicity is bliss, low effort and/or may contain minor bugs.
Behold the Scarlet Crusader

Our resource section was lacking a Scarlet Crusade Priest texture or model, and I was in a dire need of one, so I thought to myself - what better time to start learning texturing?

Made it so that it can blend well with the Scarlet Crusade Bandit and Footman skins by 67chromie and CloudWolf respectively. I even took the armor and shirt colours directly out of CloudWolf's Footman, so credits go to him as well.

Took me about 5 hours to finish it. Orange parts in the screenshot are teamcoloured. Credits to Go'el for recommending me to change the color of the cloak to red.

Everything, except the cloak, the Scarlet Crusade symbol, and two blended textures, is freehand.

Blended textures used:

A-a-and it seems that I've lost the source of the second one. Damn.

Feel free to edit, c'n'p, use in your skins, for your models, change the face, change the armor, or adapt it in any way as you like!

I'll be happy if you credit me, though.

Misha: well first of all, i find it very odd that someone has those 'things' on his cheeks and the lower part of his skin is clear.. if you're going for an older look then try looking at cartoony old people and try to incorporate their wrinkles into the skin.. if not, make his whole face clean.
His staff looks totally bland and should be further edited to look like something that ain't a blurry stick
also you lack definition shadows and a bit of highlights on the clothes

Really good skin! Very useful as there is a lack of Scarlet Crusade resources on this or any site really.

I thought that you already know how to do texturing, what about this, this and this?

They are all mostly c'n'p works.
The Silvermoon tileset is based on WoW textures.
The Sand tile is created in Genetica by me, and just slightly highlighted in PS. It is 100% custom, but it's not exactly freehand, and it's quite easier to do tileable textures.
The tree is, well, using a custom texture to blend with the leaves, though it does contain a decent chunk of freehand. Still, it's a tree, nothing complex. Human face is much more difficult.

Chilla, thanks for the advice! The hair is a hell of a mess, I know, and I'll work more on the shading. :)

The staff now, i believe you can do the shaft better. It looks as if made with plastic instead wood. If you want to do a whitewood staff needs to get more detailed, whilst detailing that part make it as regular wood, you can always turn up the brown to white later. And the staff's orb shouldnt be plain red, more like fiery, keep in mind you can use button textures too, fe. you could take texture from fire orb item's button and blend into to accomplish the orb.
