Can someone tell me how to do this? I can't figure out how. I've tried converting the upgrade into a real, and then saving and reloading all in the cache when I go to the next game, but no luck. One try that I did crashed my WarCraft.

Game cache only works in single player. In multiplayer it flushes after each game.

Save the upgrade level as an integer in a catorgry called your map name under a section called the ability name.

Then simply reload the data from the cache and set upgrade level to the same as in the cache.
