Saving animation

How can i save a animation in Blender but... i want to save it in format *.avi , *.wmv and more. And can the animation be saved in *.Gif that is animated ?

To make it gif just SS every frame and then use some gif makin program and combine the SS in a short animation. I think thats the easiest way, but im a newb xD.
