This is the concept that i simply LOVE in even the most retarded of maps.
I love being able to see my spells get stronger along with my hero.
If anyone knows of a map/campaign like that - please tell me.

P.S. - Didn't find a more suitable place to post the topic. If it's in the wrong place, please feel free to move it :p ^^

Even if the map is retarded, as long as it has stat based spells, you want to play it?

Cause there are a lot of retarded maps out there. A lot of them.

Do you mean like you have a hero. And his spells are made with triggers. And spells' damages are made with triggers so example if character have like 50 INT his spells do like 50 x 3 = 150 damage. Then if character have like 150 INT his spells does like 150 x 3 = 450 damage?

Exactly. Good examples are the Destroyer's ultimate from DotA, some of the heroes in SMotA, some of the heroes in Age of Myths, and i have like... 1-2 more maps and that's about it. That's why i need more :)

I got one for you. It's a campaign. And guess what? I did create that. But it doesn't mean it's that good, because I'm still creating it.

If you are going to play it, I suggest only to play chapter 1-5(those are the only ones that are remade currently). It means you have about 5-15 hours to play. After the campaign is in beta stage, it should have about 25-50 hours to be played.

The Chosen Ones 2.9 - The Hive Workshop - A Warcraft III Modding Site

Anyways, good luck and remember to give suggestions. I'm desperate to have some more, because it's the only way to improve it.

Yah, no one should fix anyones posts ;P kinda respectless.

Don't say it's the best, you can only say what YOU think.

I've played with those kind of spells aswell in custom hero arena?
They don't go with attributes tho ;/

But you did say
"I love being able to see my spells get stronger along with my hero."

In the Custom Hero Arena your heroes spells increase in ranks, like endurance aura level 2.
So when the hero hits level 215?
he automaticly have Endurance Aura level 25? :)
That works for me hehe.
Other than that I haven't played maps with spells based on the stats more than DotA.
But the system isn't hard creating and yea it's a nice idea, but me alone thinks the first example is better. But everybody has their opinion right.
And it is kinda the same as picking normally but the thing is, you don't know when it will stop increasing levels, what new ability you might automaticlly get with your level and so on.

But you can have both same time. Picking skills and stats increasing spells, hmm?

Well of course, but then you only pick the spell once then let it increase? :s
Well I guess then it would go.

Let's say you level up 6 levels.
Intelligence is raised by 60 points.
Your level 1 frostbolt goes from damage 100 to 160. ok?
Then at level 7 you can increase frostbolts rank to rank 2 giving another 240damage giving a result on 300 total damage.

That if 1 intelligence increases frostbolt damage with 1 damage.
Just an example. :pal:

Nope. You can increase just like in normal Warcraft style. For example in The Chosen Ones spell "Chaotic Rift" damage is based on few things.

Base damage is: 200, 400, 600, 800, 1000.
20 Int & Lvl 1 = 20 x 3 + 200 = 260 damage.
=> Means: Hero has 20 Intelligence and the spell level is 1.
50 Int & Lvl 3 & 5x Moderate Magic Ball = 50 x 3 + 600 + 5 x 30 = 900 damage.
=> Means: Hero has 50 Intelligence and the spell level is 3 and has few items that also increases the spell damage.
100 Int & Lvl 5 & 5x High Magic Ball = 100 x 3 + 1000 + 5 x 90 = 1750 damage.
=> Means: Hero has 100 Intelligence and the spell level is 5 and has few items that also increases the spell damage.

What do you think?

yesss very good :) but isn't that some what close to what I also included in what I say.
a base, and still increasing, then ofcourse you can advance that the way you want with triggers.

But yes very nice :)
But I myself prefer the normal, pick, or recieve spells.
I've never been a fan of increasing my damage by stats on spells, by items maybe, like if a hero acquire an item which is suppose to give an extra 200 spell damage, then trigger around to make sure spells do 200 extra damage. :)

I think it depense totally how you base your map, and what kind of gameplay you want.
Size, and time of play isn't the question in matter.

It's all about the author and idea. :) (A)
