remove effect sound

is it possible to remove the sound of a special effect?
in my case i want to attach the silence effect (the ! above the unit) to a unit without having the silence sound when attached
i am almost sure that it cant be done by editing the .mdl / .mdx

You are forced to edit the model (using for eg Magos). Within Node Manager find & delete given sound node which you want to be removed.

Or you overwrite the sound's path.
