Reinstalling Warcraft 3

I've heard I need to reinstall war3 to fix the patch glitch. Wil lthis delete all the files i have aloing with folders i made myself inthere for map projects and models? Or do i need to back them up. I really don't wanna reinstall soon unless i have free tiem to back up all my projects and models that are private and such. Plz respond soon
