Really need serious help to try and make a villager(newb)

Hmmm i really really need help to start from scratch to try and make a 3d polygon model of a villager on 3ds max5

-villager - male , slim , bald (hermit like)

err no sketches for now, cause dunnoe how to really draw one

AM very GLAD if CAN ask FOR some Assitance
on :

-making a really boxey model, start with box model representation.

-hope to make a slim villager who sorta just moves and walks around

-err animations include (walk,death,scolding?)

-hmmm icon abit later

WHAT i KNOW for THE month
IS:

-i knw how to arrange pivot of box models as joints
-how to preview them in war3 previewer
-how to arrange a simple body
-how to move them with key animations

BIGGEST problem with models
IS :

-dunnoe how to make a note track
-dunnoe how to make a smoother animation(newb)
-still not too familiar with 3ds max5
-only referals are war3 ART tools pdf guide
-have art tools installed already


BUT still best of all it be nice to share

- how to arrange a human character
- how to do at least 3 animations (stand,walk,death)

okok so i tink i'm not that newb around ....

hmm but i really need help to at least knw

- why does the grunt model on the ARTS TOOL models ?
q: does not deform on any of their mesh objects


- why cant i seemed to find an easier way to key frame actions for my models?
q: can i actually use actual 3ds max bones in replacement of mesh bones?

- i can seem to find a list of commands as used by the blizzard animators for the "notes" in the track editor?
q: can i just type randomly like slide , instead of stand?

- all i want to do is to really create a non complicated soldier..
q: has anyone done a samurai? i really hope to load them into a map maybe DOTA?
