questions about skills

Hello again guys, I have two questions.
1. Was there a target point skill that an AI or a Hostile uses even there's only one unit that is attacking it? I've seen that they only uses those skill such as shockwave and carrion swarm if there is more than two/three units attacking.
2. Was there a way that a unit that has a barrage skill only activate on where the unit that has a barrage skill was facing, I've seen that the barrage skill was still active even It's opponent was behind it.
