I am not intersted in modding, but rather in helping to balance maps. I have a couple of questions before i start asking ppl to help me balance a good map.
1)How hard it is to mod a protected version, and is it bad if you pirate it - even if the dev has no clue in balancing?
2)Can one man do the entire balance process? If not, how many people are required to balance an already existent map?
3)How much time can it take to make a decent map to a great balanced map?

Moin moin =)

1) It's not hard and it's not allowed. If you just want balance unit/hero stats it's not the problem, but unprotect converts all triggers into just one script. So if you want balance scripted abilities for example, you need some knowledge.

2 and 3) Base on the map itself. If you have a big map, with tons of heroes, thousands of abilities you need month and many players to get a good balance.

But you should note the following: You can't make a perfect balance! Because the map/units/heroes are so good as the player is.

1) It is not hard, but its a bad practice... There is a reason why the creator "protected" it so at least respect that...

2 and 3)Depends on the map type... And I guess its also a bit based on the skills of the players... as much as possible make sure the "balancers" have the same playing skills...
