Question - Which is more challenging?

Depends on the nature of the challenges. If the team composition is important to the challenge then it is equivalent. However, often it's harder to have random heroes and choosing the challenge because you can make a good team composition which can beat all challenges.

both are equally challenging since in option A , if I pick a str / tank hero and the challenge shows up like, "Create a potion of health using your intellect and Alchemy skills (referring to stat points in my campaign)." (even if no quest is that stupid) then Im doomed.

For option B, If get a random int/support hero and after I choose a "Slaying 50 bosses" challenge then its equally difficult and Im still doomed.

So yeah, i see both as equals. :D
