Flaming is the sending of messages that include bad language or repeat messaging especially of undesirable or obscene text. Flaming (also known as flame wars) occurs in unmoderated chat rooms. The majority of chat rooms remain ‘open’ where messages are posted automatically with no human intervention.
Sending inflammatory, hostile or derogatory email, especially in response to spam.
To verbally attack someone online in a chat with harsh, unnecessary words.
sending e-mail with offensive or insulting language (usually when one is angry).
On the Internet, flaming refers to giving someone an electronic verbal lashing in public. This could happen on a Web forum or on email with a large distribution list, but most often you will see it on a Usenet newsgroup. The reason a person gets flamed is because of poor netiquette. For example, if you are promoting your product on a newsgroup that does not allow such marketing, you will get flamed by the other readers.
An online argument that becomes nasty or derisive, where insulting a party to the discussion takes precedence over the objective merits of one side or another
To engage in an online argument usually involving unfounded personal attacks by one or more parties.
This is what trolls do when they warm up for their barage of pointless comments. Flaming can be defined by making pointless or hurtful mesages or just posting to see your own IM. Flamers are often banned or ignored in a forum or chatroom.
the act of harrassing a particular person or raping a person with messages
To insult someone electronically, or otherwise. Sometimes to be a group insult.
To insult a person you are arguing with over the internet in hopes of reviving your argument.
To Flame - causing problems unneeded in public places, without restrictions to words, sayings, or ideas, expressed throughout a conversation causing someone to feel hurt, or bad in some way
