Aren't they too unique? If you accidentally sell or somehow loose (like stash wipe planned) it you have no way getting it back other then loading save w/ it or even before completing the quest. I think there should be some way to get them back after you completed quest.

cant you just make em be remade in stash? I mean loosing a quest item and having to remake a char just for that seems plain stupid

As zwieb says, in practice all of the quest item rewards are skippable. Even if they weren't, it is completely the player's responsibility/freedom to organize and maintain their items in an RPG and I wouldn't have it any other way.

I can't say I wabt to complain a lot about that, it doesn't matter for me that much, but with planned stashes and backpack wipe it is not true, you can only store 1 item of each type for each slot + get some weird random crap from other slot when comping in (14).

Who cares, the gear will be out classed quickly anyway. This isn't 7 year old baseball where everyone gets to keep their participation trophy as if it means something. Its such a minor issue :s. If it means that much to you then save the items in your backpack and then re-stash them and just re-gain whatever gear you did actually lose. If you're being 100% honest with yourself, most of the stuff you have stashed away is stuff you'll never actually use and you keep more or less just to say you have it.

Okay, here's the thing:

I could design an interface or system that allows retrieving lost quest items...
... or I could use that time to work on 1.2C and have that release two days faster.

Think about that. Everything new I implement postpones the release of valuable content. In some cases, it's worth it (like with mounts or the new ability system), but in some cases, it just isn't. This is the latter, imho.

As I told earlier, I know, that doesn't matter that much.
