Thief Class Change quest - Bug?

I dont know if it's a bug or if it's me that hasnt yet discovered a way to complete that quest, but the NPC tells you about a "sleeping powder" that might work but she doesnt give you any and there's no place where you can buy something like it. You need to get a dagger into the house passing through the guards without being seen but the last guard is LOOKING to the item you need to take and theres no way you can take it while hes looking - "You cannot get the item while the guard is looking" msg pops up - but there also no way you can put him to sleep! your sleep skill dazzing trap does not work with the guards and I cant find a solution to get this quest done. Anyone succeeded in completing it or does anyone know about this issue?

Sorry for the trouble and the noobiness. I just found that theres a cauldron INSIDE the house, where you activate the poison and wait for the woman to feed the guard, then you can go in and get your item and your quest done. The "bug" was inside my own stupid skull. Sorry.
