Making a guide for every class I play for my own clan forums and so far I finished the thief one, next one will be ranger although I think nobody really has many issues with the ranger quest, not entirely sure. Anyways I hope this mini-guide will help you understand how to do the thief job quest, if not ask questions and I'll try to clarify! Cheers mates!
Note: This is simply copied and pasted from my original guide on our clan forums, the format may look entirely different.
Example of where you can enter the Slums District via Central District.
Pass the Oracle and Seer, continue to bottom right where there is a large "Phantom Assassin" surrounded by rogues.
This requires PATIENCE. Count and wait until the 7TH guard passes you. This is what worked for me, sometimes rushing straight away works as well!
The approximate distance to follow behind the guard.
As the screenshot says, the guard will go out a bit but then head into the next room making a sort of \ path. Be careful not to follow too close to him here!
It should be safe to quickly go around the right side of the table and go up into the next room where the kitchen is.
Click on the soup cauldron and add the sleeping potion.
The lady won't detect you even if you are right behind her, so just wait on the right hand side so the guards patrolling won't detect you through the wall on the left!
This is where Doris goes over to hand the soup (rather quickly I might add)
This part may take a few tries of quickly scouting outside the kitchen for vision and heading back before a guard sees you. It's a good idea to wait until you see a guard pass the entrance and then check.
The guard is now asleep so you can safely go in front of him. Select the rusted sword and take it, the quest will then be over! Great work!
