Prototype

I just got Prototype for my PC and even though the controls were a pain in the ass to set up because the game didn't like my mouse so I had to use xpadder to configure an unsupported game pad to play it, I still LOVE the game.

For those of you who haven't heard of the game I will give a little spoiler-free background. You play as Alex Mercer(MOST BADASS CHARACTER EVER!!!), a man who worked for a company that began doing some strange experiments on him. The experiments involved some sort of virus that developed strangely in you and gave you all sorts of superhuman abilities, but when the other test subject escaped into the public she developed quite differently and began infecting everything she touched with basically a "Zombie" virus. Now you want to find out who did this to you and make them pay whilst dealing with the zombie chick.

That is the basic back-story for the game. I am almost finished with the game and I fuckin love it, its one of those games with a crazy-ass intro movie where your character does all this sweet shit and you are thinking, "Oh I bet I can't actually do all that stuff when I'm playing", but here's the kicker, YOU CAN! A while into the game I found myself thinking, "Hey, just for the heck of it why don't I grab a truck, run up the side of a skyscraper with the truck in my hands and hurl it at a military copter and blow it out of the sky, then I will just turn around, leap off the edge of the building and fall 100+ stories to smash a tank in half with my bear fist."

I highly recommend this game, and due to the control issues I would get it for PS3 or XBOX if I were you. Probably PS3 since the graphics capabilities of XBOX suck and tend to lag in the simplest of games.

Yay for trolling.

I definitely want to try this game. I'll wait for the price to drop, or rent it though. Seems like a renter.

I tried it on the Xbox and PC- the Xbox version ran MUCH smoother, but still, it's a great game. However, I eventually replaced it with a much better one: The Witcher. Geralt of Rivia is THE most badass character in a videogame, not Alex Mercer, to be honest.

I have a very powerful computer that can run Unreal Tournament 3 at max settings with no jitters or stutters. I'm not exactly sure why Prototype didn't run so well. I got a pretty good framerate, but occasionally it would stutter here and there, especially during explosions and when there's a lot of action.
