Prolong Expiration Timer

hello, is there any ways to Increase expiration timer?

add expiration timer cant be use to add the time.

i want to prolong expiration timer, when the unit stand on a place, well, it is a summoned unit, and there is a region to increase its expiration timer.

how do i do that? do it exist in custom script?

and oh, its custom buff, so dont change it into something like "water elemental" or "generic" if possible.

the longer you stay in region, the more it increase. thats all, thx.

Since it's a buff, I imagine that you can use the Remove Specific Buff trigger to remove the expiration timer and then just add the expiration timer again to the unit with a higher duration.

and, how do i detect the expiration timer left? can you post a sample test map?

You'd have to attach it to the unit somehow. The best way would be to have a global game timer and then attach when the expiration timer started to the unit (and its duration) so that you don't ever need to update that value.

You can save the time in hashtable and use a loop to deduct it. If it reaches 0,do the actions.
Make a loop that picks units in your region and increase the value saved in hashtable for each unit you want periodically.

@purpleroot i thought of that, but that will be my last resort, coz it is buggy, and it will be very complicated when it comes to certain cases.if someone has another idea, or custom scripts that directly involves expiration timer, please post.

@Garfield1337 hashtables...i need someone that is skilled in that, i possess little knowledge on it. mind making a test map on it? ah, there is some region that pauses expiration timers too, test if it works with those.

It isn't buggy if you do it properly.

Basically what Garfield did but way more efficient because it doesn't have to modify the attached values unless you ask it to.
