Problem with screenshots

I really don't know where to post this, but I'll do it here, since my question kind of involves terrain. I made some terrain and I took some screens. Only problem is I can't open the screenshots in any program(including Photoshop 7.0 and CS3). When I open them I just get a black picture. Any idea whats wrong?

I usually open in paint then cut of the edges and save it.

The best way is to open paint up after hitting PrtSceen, and then pasting it and cropping it properly.
