Problem with Multiplayer?

I have a problem with wc3 v1.21. I have 2 comps connected together with crossover cable. So I have a small LAN with only two comps withouth the internet and withouth router or switch. If I wont to conect to the game on the second computer, it shows me only mesage: "Unable to join! Try it again."
Both the comps have the same version of wc3 with different cd-key. Firewall doesnt block it.
Another games works good, I have problem only with warcraft. Is there any solution, or need I internet solution for playing in LAN?

Borax, comps need different ports. It's in game options, if I remember well. If it's only 2 comps, make one 6112 (that's the preset value), and the other- 6113.

I tried it, but it doesnt help me. The strangest is, that others games works good.

Both computer have winXP, firewall doesnt block it.

Yes, window's fire wall will block WCIII unless you set up special properties in windows fire wall to let data go in and out the wcIII ports. I simply turn off all my firewalls before playing. Nothing is going to attack you through b.net.

I dont think two PC's having the same IP work so well used with an online game lol
