Hey all, amargaard's here! :D

As title says, the posting-time when you make a reply is, for me, very confusing! I don't know how I can explain it in any other way... Hmmm... Well, everytime you post something here on HIVE you can see the time for your post in the upper left corner...

The problem is: The "time" is using the American AM and PM, which I don't know pretty good. I suggest that there should be an option on the user-pages to enable "the American AM and PM-system" and disable it again to the normal European watch time, or the opposite... :-/

Well, please comment your thoughts about this, if you see this thread.

How I hate it when people think things are American that actually came from ENGLAND. In fact, as far as I know people on the continent used AM and PM until Napoleon came along, like driving on the left changing to the right across Europe. Another one of these things designed to screw English merchants. Anyway, enough history -- can't you just 12 to whatever you see with PM after it? It's not that hard...

are you serious? i mean, good god...
This either is a joke or simply is lame.

If it is just lame - then learn that AM is from 1:00 to 12:00 while PM is from 13:00 to 24:00! (im not sure if im correct tho)

Element of Water) Wow, sorry about that American-English thing. I just thought it was from America, but it's not because I don't like America or anything... I rather wish I was born there together with all the cool cities, actors, muscians...

MortAr-) Well, I do because I don't think anyone else would do it... And my opinion: Some would think it would be easier... Well, I would :-/

Teh_Ephy) Hmmm... Yeah, I am... Why not just 1 watch showing 24 hours instead of a splittet up one, which is called AM and PM - Aways forget what is what... After Midday and Past Midday, it's the same (EDIT: Woops, Past means before... Damnit!)! xD

mare) Well, I am serious. It's not a joke, but if you wants to call it lame, go ahead. I don't care. I'm just saying that I would think it was easier with a normal watch. xD

Looks like i'm pretty alone here xD

Don't feel bad, conversion of systems is always annoying. But the 12 Hour cycle is fairly simple. Its also alphabetical. A comes before P so AM comes before PM.

AM is the first half of the Day. It goes from Midnight (12:00 AM) to just before Noon (11:59 AM) so 0:00 to 11:59
PM is the second half of the day and goes from Noon (12:00 PM) to Just before Midnight. (11:59PM) So 12:00 to 23:59

Thank you Mizuio Ken!

That helped a lot, though I already knew the systems it was nice to get a warm noob-friendly explanation Black on White with a simple understandable image. Yeah, I understands it now... But I don't think I can remember it for long without such a "wheel" at my side all the time... :-/

Anyway, Mizuio Ken, suggest you should make tutorials... Not about this, of cause... xD ... But You've got talent for such things!

Mizuio Ken) Hahaha, thanks, but I don't think I can use it... Only a few times...

Gallin) Are you from America!?! Then I was right! These are from America! HA! Anyway, our clock is not "splittet up" - there's 24 hours, not 12 + 12... It's like one big AM or one big PM... We do not say "The time is 2:00 PM" - we say "The time is 14:00"... :)

It depends on what clock you're using.

A digital clock would agree with you, tho.

Also, we just say; 'it's two o'clock' when we mean 14:00, and yes, I'm from Europe.

Woow, are you going to make such an option!?! And what does ATM mean?? :-O

Well, they irritated me too, but I didn't want to start a fight against them, 'cause I still want to be innocent... And I am :) Maybe retarded, but innocent :)

Just to make this more confusing: 0:00AM doesnt exist. The same point in time is described by 12:00AM. Same applies to PM.

If its half an hour past midnight the time is 12:30AM. If its half an hour past noon, its 12:30PM.
But if its an hour past midnight, its 1:00AM.

Whoever invented this was a sadist.
