[JASS] Possible to give a halving status with Jass?

Is it possible to give a halving status attack using JASS???? I wouldnt even know where to begin. I have a hero with triple the attack speed of any other hero. But i want to halve his dmg. I can do this by editing the hero iteslf. But i only want it during a certain event. Is this possible??

Just make an ability based on "Command Aura" and change the field Data - Attack Damage Increase to -0.5 by holding shift before you click it. Then when you want half damage just add the ability to the hero. Remember to also change the field Stats - Targets Allowed to only self.
