The button that heroes have, called "Hero Abilities".

The only thing I know about it is that you can change the icon in the Gameplay Interface, but I don't see anything else to change anything on it, like tooltip, name or hotkey.

Are those things possible by importing my own file of some sort? I know you can change some pretty crazy stuff by overwriting it.

In rare situations that would be helpful indeed, I just can't think of any atm.

Basically yeah, the first one that came to mind was using spacebar as a "FIRE" button in RPG maps or gun maps or something.

Even still, it's cool to think that WC3 can now detect every single key on your keyboard, only in situations where you have a specific unit selected (to receive the hotkeys) and granted they have an extra command slot open for a dummy ability.

Right now, I've found like PAUSE, CAPSLOCk, SCROLL, NUM, all the numpad keys, SHIFT, SPACEBAR, INSERT, PAGEUP/DOWN, HOME, END, DELETE, BACKSPACE, and a few others. There's some special ones too, but only a handful of keys left to find, and I'll post them up in a list with a map attached.

The weirdest thing though, is that these keys aren't related to any sort of ASCII table or anything, they seem random.

Sort of. It only allows one key. Each key has a decimal representation, and you can set the hotkeys as their decimal form in any of the string files, like abilities and units, then import them into your map.

So where it says "Hotkey = a" you can change that to "Hotkey = 65" which translates to the letter a, based on the ASCII table.

The only keys that fit the ASCII table are A-Z though, the other ones seem random, so it's taking a while to find them all.
