Well what if they use 3D for the pokemon? that might just ruin the series... but yeah, if they used a complete 3d engine for the game world, and mondo-awesome new graphics for the battle mode... (stll 2d) i think it could work... (if they pull it off right) Pokemanz still pwn. probably still be playing it when i'm 30 lulz...

Black and White is full 3D.

In battles, it showed that your camera shows the entire backside of your Pokemon, not just the top of its head.

Honestly, Pokemon could use some 3D action. Some of you might say that it ruins pokemon, but I say the series need to grow, to "evolve" into something advanced. I'm tired of seeing and collecting paper-like sprites that are cut half-way through their bodies. This is a refreshing change. This is SPARTA. I like it, even if people say it ruins the "spirit" of pokemon games
.
By the way, what is your strongest pokemon?
Legendary hax aside, I think mine is Porygon-Z.
Has adaptability, and holds item silk scarf.
Move set includes Tri Attack, Hyperbeam, Recover, Protect. I mentioned I love STAB.
Only level 62 at the moment. I know it's somewhat suckish, but still, non-supereffective attacks that can one-hit KO most pokemon on its level range is can be sexy.

3D doesn't sound bad if you ask me since the original games are from a point of view that should work well with 3D anyway. If the original games would be platformers where you see everything from the side (let's say Sonic/Mario) 3D might be a risky move though.

Effort points only need to be considered when a pokemon is approaching max level, as they can change as much as you want before then. Remember that they work in multiples of 4, and as 255 (max) is not a multiple of 4, you can cut the last few points and put them in another stat for more power.

Apparently you only ever need to breed 1 pokemon in the current generation inorder to max its stats due to the ability to manipulate the RNG.

Also, I hate Ho-oh, I've thrown about 40 ultra balls and 8 dusk balls at him now. Tryed putting him to sleep to. No success. Luck is not on my side.
Ho-oh has the same catch rate as nearly all legendary pokemon: 3.
I actually made a catch-rate-calculator on my calculator xD (gives the catch rate of a pokemon, you can insert which ball, which status ailment, catch rate, amount of balls etc...).
I really hated Giratina, took me about 70 ultra's :/ (while I caught Mesprit with 2 ultra's and Palkia with the first one I threw).

Other than double the amount of EV-yield, it does nothing.
True, but it's still very useful when trying to get your pokemon get the right EV's ^^
+ you can infect all pokemon you want to have with only 1 pokerus-pokemon.
Overrated: yes / useful: yes.

I breed about 60-80 pokemon a day (on days I'm bored I breed up to 200), and release pretty much all but the shinies, all my ledgandary shinies have been gained through trade.
it took me about 400-500 spinaraks to get the 9 shinies (don't remember exactly)

and atm I only have 1 shiny cranidos, gonna hopefully manage another for four days time :p

I guess I'm lucky in the fact that it doesn't take me 8000 pokemon to get 1 shiny, I have encountered about 15 shiny wild pokemon randomly, 30 using that scanner thingy-ma-jig, the rest are breeded.

Edit: I got pokerus from one of the elite four's pokemon and I did delibratly spread it. :p

I once had a pokemon with that pokerus in silver >_<
I got him from a trade and didn't know what in hell it was
I locked him away the poor thing.

I think I've had the Pokérus message at a Pokémon Center too once in Silver, but never heard of what it is till now.

My Silver is dead now anyway.

Is Tank-Commander using some kind of tool to get that many shinies?
I got my first shiny in Silver after 500 hours of gameplay (not counting the red Gyarados) and that's the only one I ever saw.

Well, not an external tool such as gameshark or AR, but catching shinies in the wild can be done much easier via use of the pokedar.

Using a pokedar in the grass some bits of the grass shake, walk onto one and a battle occurs, then after the battle more grass shakes, and it's likely to be the same pokemon again, the higher you chain pokemon the more likely you are to encounter a shiny.

Breeding shines takes hours and I wouldn't recommend it tbh, but hey I can't use pokedar for sea faring pokemon like wailmer for my wailord :p

Also, they upped your chances of obtaining a shiny in the more recent games. random encountering 15 took something like 300 gaming hours, but I'm oddly lucky in games and unlucky in rl as far as situations.

I remember the first time I saw a shiny in Gold version, it was in my first play through when I was going through the cave after the first Gym, it was a shiny Zubat. As a rule I never catch them because I don't like how slow and inefficient their strategies are so I just ran away even though I saw the star thing in the beginning. When I later learned what a shiny actually was I was pissed

Heh, the first shiny I saw was a Zubat too, in Sapphire. I just ran away because I didn't know what a shiny Pokemon was.
And the first time I had poison and was walking around in Red, I thought it was a glitch and turned off the game...After going through Mount Moon, and the trainers on the bridge.

No, I was found that odd. The DS line could last a good while longer, long enough to facilitate another Pokemon game on it after Black and White. For them to say that it will be the last on the DS line seems like their underestimates their system - h311, they have no competition in the hand-held market anyways (I would say PSP Go marks the death of the PSP line, Sony just hasn't offered enough support to keep their handheld alive).

Hmmm, I wonder what the future of Nintendos handhelds will be like? Nintendo TS?

Thats the only Shiny you've found in the battle tower? I'm assuming it was online, but when I played Battle Tower online almost every person I fought had the same Black Charizard.
This was way back in ruby, so there was no online play back then.
I woder what its going to be in black and white... and isn't it supposed to be the last pkmn game on the DS? Or will this be on the new nintendo device?
From what I've heard it's gonna be one of the first games on the 3DS, which is supposed to be a new generation. Like from GBA -> DS, not like from DS -> DSL.

Why would it not work on the normal DS if it works on the DSlite? The DSlite is the exact same system, just slightly slimer and a waste of a few more dollars for the same exact product (on a sidenote, anyone remember that mini gameboy advance they put out right when they started selling DSes? I wonder how many people actually bought that, it was definitely a waste of money).

You mean that flip GBA that had a backlight and looked like a colored tin? Hated 'um, a total waste of money, and to my knowledge they had a lot of problems with people flipping them open to hard and D/C 'ing the screen right off.

The hardware on the DSlite reads the gameware differently. That's why some flashcarts work for the DSlite and not the DSphat.

Idk if it'll work on the DSphat or not, I was just saying that they didn't say it would work on it; meaning no comment.

"The games are slated for a 2010 release date on the Nintendo DS". - from Psypokes.
So I think it'll work on the DSlite. I hope so, because I don't want to buy a DSi. I heard they're not worth it.
