Half-Life: Alyx is coming in March 2020. To celebrate this, the previous games in the Half-Life Series are currently free to play for Steam users, from now until the day it launches.

Maybe HL² was also the first AAA game to make an internet connection mandatory in order to install/run it (and this was not even mentioned on the box, which led to quite a few refunds by retail stores back then) iirc.
