I think it´s time for a new Phoenix Contest.
The Modeling Contest is over and the Cinematic Contest comes to its end.
The Hive is free for the next Phoenix Contest, offering the possibility for icon creators to show their art.
I´d like to pick up the Weapon/Armor Upgrade Theme discussed some time before.

This is how the contest chart may look:

Phoenix Trial #4
Contest Theme: Weapon and Armor Upgrade Sequences

Your aim is to create two sequences (each consisting of three or more icons), one representing the upgrade sequence for your favourite weapon and another one for somekind of matching armor.
Use your imagination, a weapon is everything what can cause damage in any form.
An armor is everything what may protect just against these.
Come up with an original idea and create your both own upgrade sequences.

Contest Rules And Conditions
  • All icons must adhere to the established icon rules.
  • Active and disabled versions of all icons are required.
  • No plain screenshots (or shallowly modified) icons are permitted.
  • The icons must be made specifically for the contest. No previous works are allowed.
  • Blizzard icon naming conventions must be followed: BTNAttack*.blp etc.
    Example: DISBTNHoldPositionBlackDoom.blp
  • Works in progress (WIPs) of the icons are encouraged as they keep the contest active.
  • The icons must be physically attached to a post when complete. (.blp files only!)
  • An in-game screenshot must be included with all submissions.
  • Judges may not participate in the contest.
  • No irrelevant, non-constructive or off-topic posts will be tolerated in this thread.

    Creativity
The icons' originality and uniqueness are vitally important.30%

    Blizzard feeling

    Technical Note
The quality of the icons is the most important thing. They must be detailed yet clear (throwing a lot of elements in a 64x64 image will usually look crowded).40%
  • 50 % of the winner shall be determined by the contest's appointed judge(s).
  • 50 % of the winner shall be determined by the results of a public poll.

Third Place: 10 reputation points

or

First Place: 45 reputation points and a special award icon
Second Place: 30 reputation points
Third Place: 15 reputation points

What is preferred?

I think the 50% increase is good, considering that you have to make 3 icons that are not entirely identical.

I would love to join, even doe it will be my first icon ever made :)
I dont get this:
Icons should be executed in such a manner that they can be implemented in a Warcraft map and compliment other Blizzard icons" What does this mean?

Try to make them as "blizzardish" as possible. Look at Blizzard-Icons and find their style out.
