opening threads automatically scrolls down to the comment section

when you open a thread, for example something for a model, it scrolls down to the comments automatically. the most relevant section of the page is the very top, with pictures and information from the uploader. why does it open to the comment section? is there a setting to disable that? thanks.

It depends on where on the thread you click. Some goes to most recent comment, some goes to first unread, some goes to the top.

When there is a new post you haven't seen in a thread clicking the thread title will send you to that last comment. You can press the date under the thread title for the first page, even post to load instead.

When a thread has not been visited in a long time, clicking the thread title will display the top first page instead of the first unread comment. In which case, clicking on 'Go to First Unread' afterwards allows you to immediately go to the first unread post in the thread.
