Yeah, I really reckon Ralle shoulda just taken the resources and mod accounts onto the Hive, then left a message at wc3sear's domain saying to come here, and all the people could sign up again etc. Most of sear's threads by this point are pretty much trash.

And if people complained, hell, they're getting a free service.

I agree so as well. You wouldn't get all of these lame spam posts with tons and tons of pages that no one cares about. Have you seen the number of stickies in Off Topic!? You have to bloody scroll down to get any of the actual posts. Shados is right, that would have been the way to go, however it's to late now, and this is going to require a lot of cleaning up and damage control.

Exactly, because all of the bots can get into the Hive now since the anti bot system does not apply to the imported wc3sear users as they do not have the anti bot question posed to them. As soon as we round up these damned wc3sear bots we should be fine since no new bots can register with the Bob antibot system.

Meh, we need to do some major cleaning up, the forums are all a emss now with these random retarded wc3sear posts. What they should have done, if they were intent on importing the forums, was put all of the wc3sear posts in their own forums and then go through them, taking the useful posts out and putting them in their proper places in the Hive and deleting the rest and deleting the wc3sear temp forums at the end.

I agree with Darrk nite on this one, the Trusted Members should go through cleaning. Hive gets junk, and it's left behind, but there is a rediculous amount of crap that has been recently added thanks to the merge and it needs to go. The admin/mod team is going to have a lot of work on their hands cleaning through all of the junk to get our forums neat and accessable again, instead of choked by spam and useless posts.

The forums were filled with junk before the merge aswell and as I stated earlier what does old dead threads matter? Do you actually randomly go through the pages and read topics for fun?

No, but I do like to be able to access older topics (in cases of reference for tutorials, older threads that someone else made that you can learn from, etc.) So it's nice to be able to get to them easy. I think the point we're making is just less mess, get all the bot/pointless/dead posts out of the way. Maybe a Graveyard for dead forums

Hive's members have always been less spammy/flamey in my opinion as well, but then again that's just my opinion. I supose Rage is right, it's just that all of these dead posts are curently sitting at the top, so eventually they will move down to make room for the new posts that are interesting and relevant. I hope.

Well for one thing they'd have to be taking up a fairly large amount of space, what with the huge number of posts and threads on wc3sear.ch. I've slightly changed my opinion, I reckon we should keep the tutorial threads and dump everything else, or almost everything else, anyway.

Yep, space is a huge issue as well. Wait, so Rage isn't the one in charge though right? The final decision would be up to Ralle I presume?

I say clean up old useless stickies from search, like I'm doing in my section, but leave the old threads.

People can always use them as a reference. If people revive them then just close it.

First of all, hello everyone!
I'm from wc3s, and i can assure you that there were many-many useless threads that can be deleted as they are trash, really. But not all of them! There were interesting and good issues. Just pick them, and delete the forgettable ones. If someone wants to read them, he will go to wc3s, as i think the forum threads will stay there.

I'm pretty much with dark on this one. . .although I might suggest Ralle adding a little icon or something by all the old wc3sear.ch threads(just to identify).

I do, however, like some of the threads, as they are interesting and I never got around to them om wc3sear.ch mainly due to the fact that it was SUCH a slow site. . .

Sure, it's a little messy right now, but hey, that's to be expected with such a large transfer.
