Not good. My current map I'm working on wont open on World Editor. Here's what happens. I open up World Editor and wait for it to load, then I go to Open and select the map. So then that 'Progress' thing comes up where it shows the progress of opening the map, and it all works normal until it gets to Units. Then when it gets to Units, it suddenly just freezes and I get that error message saying World Editor has encountered a problem and needs to close. I can't figure out why. The map size is tiny, the file size is 705kb, and there's only 66 units on the map, which doesn't really seem like all that many. I've tried opening World Editor from different user accounts and everything I can think of but the problem still persists. I tried opening up some other random maps in the folder and it seems to work fine except for that specific one. I have no idea why its doing this and help would be appreciated as I would really be pissed if I had to start over the map from scratch. Thanks.

Here it is. I started only a short while ago so you can see its still missing quite some things, mostly triggers.

I had a feeling it was 1 of them, but how does it actually make it crash? I thought the worst it could do was not work. And uh, well, I would remove them, but I can't even open up the map to edit it. And if I try to host it on bnet, it works until the loading screen but then WC3 crashes when the game starts. I don't know how to managed to open it in the first place to remove the imports, but thanks. It'd help if you could post it so I could download it.

He probably opened it with an MPQ editor. If ever this problem occurs to you again, use this: http://powermpq.altervista.org/ or http://shadowflare.samods.org/dwnload.html#WinMPQ MPQ editor to open your map's file. You see, .wmx and .wmc files are just some sort of "zip" files, which can be opened.

well, i dont know which opne but, every time you save, use Save As and save as a new version number (etc: v0.01 then v0.02 and so on..)
then, if you make a mistake, you can always open another version.
Hope you be able to open the map :)

The ironic part is that I always do just that... I was working on it for practically the entire day that sunday and I made a load of progress. And I didn't make any copies inbetween.

@Angelusz; So, basically you're saying that when it becomes corrupt, it's still possible for it to work as an MPQ, just not a w3x? But you can convert it from MPQ back to w3x right?

Also, as you can see here, http://www.hiveworkshop.com/forums/showthread.php?t=51372
I did not make the WeaponlessTuskar and its portrait or the ArthasEdit. In the thread, Modo says that when he deleted Attack - 1 so that he would only use Attack - 2 during combat, but he simply renamed Attack - 2, 'attack'. I'm guessing it didn't recognize 'attack' as an animation name and therefore the animation existed, but did not function. And according to the thread by Wolverabid that Werewulf posted, .MDX's can become corrupt from improper/null animations. I honestly don't know anything about this subject but from what I've seen from this thread, I'm almost certain thats the problem.

EDIT: I downloaded that WinMPQ and played around with it for a little to get the hang of it and managed to fix the map. Thanks for everyone's help. Turns out it was the weaponless tuskar model that was causing the trouble, although I can't seem to figure out why. So I guess that means I'm still in need of one. I don't want this to go off topic but if anyone could take the 'Tuskarr Fighter - Level 2' unit and make a plain model of it without tusks, weapons, or pouches, that would really help.

A w3x file is an mpq file. Theres no need to change from one to the other because they are almost exactly the same.

Also there's a tut. for removing a weapon from a model. Its actually extremely easy. I suggest you look for it.
