This is a wavy sand texture for any 2-variations tile that I've created for my upcoming project. Alpha-mask is the one from "Ashenvale Grass Dirt", texture is generated via Genetica.

Could be used both as beach and desert tiles. The second tile variation is same as the first, just with some dirt on it.

I know that the waves do not match seamlessly, but that was as close as I could get to it. If somebody wants to improve this texture - feel free to criticize or to ask for the *.gtx and *.psd files.

You can use and modify it without permission; however, I would be happy if you give me some credits. Have fun!

UPDATE:

Remade the whole texture, the tiles fit better now, and there is more contrast. Also, used Ruins' Sand Alpha Channel as it suits better.

The best way to make tiles line up seamlessly is to break up a tile into 4 equal-sized parts, and re-align the parts so that all the seems are in the middle of the tile, and all the work in the middle ends up being on the seems.

for a crappy visual, do something like this:

AB--->DC
CD--->BA

Basically you swap the quarters diagonally (A with D and C with B).

Then just work on aligning all the work so it looks seamless. The edges should be a + pattern in the middle of the tile now instead of the actual edge.

This wavy sand tile looks decent as is though, I'm not sure how I feel about using Genetica to create part of it though.
