So, yeah.
- Been a hell of a long time since I've kept you lads up to
date on what I'm working on, terrain-wise.
_________________________________________________________

Considering someone is taking their sweet time to get mine and his co-terrain finished;
I started working on another "3D Terrain Template" for Dawn of Life.

_________________________________________________________

I really wanted to get more of this terrain done before posting the first WIP-thread,
but I've come to terms with how slowly this is going and how tedious the project is,
there-by I'll provide you this thread to show you what I've done so far,
comments and critique is always welcome.

Some information for the interested party:

This is, as previously mentioned, going to be a full-scale map where I provide a "3D",
in terms of that you can view it from all angles, map to visualize the race of "Nomads"
and their environment, not to neglect their way of constructing out-posts and cities.
Another major part of this map is the Rivaan ruin covering likely two fourth's of the map.
That ruin is what I am currently providing you WIPs of.

Aeficûm rhée Rehnòva - Rivaan speech for: "Temple of Recreation."
_________________________________________________________

Now, I hope you enjoy this little bunch of very early WIP terrain-shots,
and hopefully someone can come with some helpful advice, pointers or general ideas.
- All is welcome!

Yeah, well.

I'd like to see this finished myself, especially considering what I've got planned for the full completion of this terrain.
Just don't get your hopes up, this is nothing but a terrain, I won't be making it playable or path-able or anything like that,
it's simply scenic.

Hey, it's more than i expected from you, hehe
I wish to see this style in a open space :D

More?

Yep, compare this to Saga:
- It's more details in contructions
- Still keep the necessary simpleness
- Have a direct target than something random inspiration

Wait, not like Saga leaks them, more like Nomadic Waterwell shows them clearly.
Anyway, i like both of them and respect you because of how much time you spent to finish them :D

Time is irrelevant.
- Basically, by the freedom of one not working for a paycheck - I can spend the time I want, hence the time I use.

- It's more details in contructions

I don't see how this is necessarily more detailed than Saga (though you might have meant it the other way around, hard to tell.)

- Still keep the necessary simpleness

Simpleness? Now THAT'S something I need to work against! >.>

- Have a direct target than something random inspiration

Direct target, as opposed to what?

_________________________________________________________

Do take note, though. I'm more than well aware that what you're saying might well be intended as
constructive and complimentary. I still do have questions related to what
you say, hence... Well... The questions >.>

You are realy into the moria doodads aren't you? The only combination I haven't seen yet on your screenshots is a massive column like in this screenshot. You see it in the upper-left area. It actually looks like a common column as seen in diablo 3.

But since this terrain is just a template for another engine I don't know how deep you want to go into details.

btw, saw your signature on 9gag. You're mainstream now :D

That screenshot is broken.

Well, yeah. I won't deny having a special affection toward those doodads, I just love their versatility. Though, quite frankly,
I've chosen the doodads 'more' because they very properly represents the general look and feel to Rivaan architecture.

This is \not\ a template for another \engine.\
- Why do people continue getting confused on that point.

I've been working on a story, or more like a world, now for about six or seven years that I intend one day to show and tell by means of writing.
And to that extent I like using the WE to make terrains off of specific or general things related to that world/story. It's a 3D "template" of a location
in Dawn of Life that actually has some significant baring to the main story.

Awesome terrain! :) and your story sounds like it is going to be just as awesome. I don't know if you were planning this or not, but I think it would be cool to make a campaign of sorts where the map loaded would be the setting the story is currently at and there would be some sort of book reading system so a player could see the beautiful environment while turning the pages of your story.
