New to map making

I have been looking around and been wanting to get into map making for a while. i have downloaded some models, imported them in the world editor, and replaced some standard models with the new imported ones. i test out the map and all i get is the shadow of the model. i can't select it or anything. whats going on??? Please help me.

have you remembered to take the .mdx out of it's containing folder?

The most common cause of the 'invisible model' is that you did not import the textures right. Make sure to change the paths of the textures to the paths specified while downloading a model.
