I'm thinking of a hypothetical situation where Arthas and the Lich King and all those undead people have taken over the world, and the only living people left are captured, or hiding away somewhere.
Arthas entertains himself with gladiator matches, pitching all of his living prisoners against varying armies of the Undead.
At the start of the game, you can choose your race: Orc, Human, or Night Elf. There are no enemies anymore, only the alive v. the undead.
After that, you fight, and after some level, your hero will go up a class. You will always have 2 choices when you rank-up, like a tech tree. For example:
If you can make sense of that, I will be amazed...but, anyway!
The rest of the game goes like the normal gladiators game, with round after round of combat, until you face a boss, probably Arthas.
Suggestions? Don't take this idea.
Alternatively, Ogre could be replaced by tauren, but I just thought of this.

Orc Techtree
Peon Goes to: Troll or Orc or Tauren
------------------------------
Orc Goes to: Orc Warrior or Ogre
Troll Goes to: Fighter or Shaman
Tauren Goes to: Bull or Spirit
-------------------------------
Orc Warrior Goes to: Chieftain or Far Seer
Ogre Goes to: Magi or Warlord
Fighter Goes to: Berserker or Marksman
Shaman Goes to: Witch Doctor or Channeler
Bull Goes to: Behemoth or Charger
Spirit Goes to: Spirit Walker or Tauren Chieftain
