Let's see, a new map and its size is +6 mb with only 1 custom race, why!
Try to reduce the size by using more models by Blizzard, and again the other map's size is more than 8 mb, please do something about the file sizes.

I'll tell you why, I decided to make a series of altered melee maps with one custom race each, and what made the file size bigger the custom music.The other map cannot be reduced, four races are completed with custom icons and models with some new spells.

You can, you can use some of the normal faceless ones models like the gladiator, you can use facless one deathbringer model for him,

6MBs is not too bad for Altered Melee. Using more skins and more blizzard models makes the map not look as cool. I agree the 8MB limit should be strictly followed because it will be unplayable via Bnet 2v2.

It's not enough to ask "why" or suggest you could do it with a smaller file size, you should point to instances where unnecessarily large files are imported.

Note: To reduce file size you may want to edit skins by reducing the pixels. Also, check out hidden resources for a great alternative to importing new icons, skins and models.

I called it new dalaran to fit the events and triggers i'll make in the future and in the point of hippogryph you are right and the extra knight is a hero.
