Ner'Zhul's death knights before Warcraft 3

Is there any indication (mission description, book, WoW lore, but not gameplay) that Ner'Zhul created any new death knights during BtdP for his army? Not necessarily named.

I think Ner'zhul only created the new generation of death knights after he was turned to a lich. Before that from what I remember, he only allied with Teron Gorefiend and those death knights free of Gul'dan.
