Need help with item ability "Steal"

For some reason the item ability "Steal", by default, drains the HP or MP from the target unit, but hurts the casting unit. I'm absorbing HP with it, not MP. How do I fix this so it drains from the target unit, and gives that life to the casting unit in a positive way instead of hurting?

this is buggy but but hopefully you get the point
  • Melee Initialization
    • Events
      • Unit - A unit Is attacked
    • Conditions
      • (Level of Attribute Bonus for (Attacking unit)) Greater than 0
    • Actions
      • Set caster = (Attacking unit)
      • Set target = (Attacked unit)
      • Unit - Set life of caster to ((Life of caster) + 1.00)
      • Unit - Set life of target to ((Life of target) - 1.00)

Yep, it is hard coded, just as you suggested, deathismyfriend. I triggered it. Thanks for the help guys.
