Hi,

I am experiencing a problem that I would be grateful for some help with. Along with my brother, I've created a mod with several custom units. I imported a bunch of .dds images and .wav sound files, and used them as icons and unit voices. As far as I can tell, they 'should' all appear and work fine in-game. However, they do not... the images appear as solid faint blue colors and the custom sounds don't play.

Does anyone know what I've done wrong, and have a fix for this problem?

Thank you very much in advance!

Well currently the editor doesn't support Mod imports completely, so when you import something into your mod, and then add the mod to a map, the imports will not carry over from your mod to your map. What you have to do is actually add the imports to your map as well, although this won't take up additional space, it is a stupid step that shouldn't be necessary to begin with. From what I hear this problem is going to be rectified in patch 1.2 where your imports in a mod will carry over to the map.

This is covered in the sticky (FAQ)...

Basically, mods are broken for the time being.

They are meant to load in the order they are imported from top to bottom loading any dependencies of the mod (mods can depend on other mods) if they are not already loaded.
The first bug when SC2 was released was that mods would fail to load reliably in the editor (depending on how the editor felt, they would load or not load). This seems to have been fixed.
The second bug is described in the post above and will hopefully be fixed soon.

I do not think blizzard tested mods very much. During the beta few people had the opotunity to due to the lack of time. Thus problems with them were left until after release.
