Need Help on Mounting Skills

I'm currently working on a hero. The hero is called Mechanist. he has one ability where in he can acquire and ride a G.A.U.(Guardian Armor Unit... if you have a better name please tell me ^^). I want the G.A.U. unable to attack as long as the Mechanist is not riding it so i used the Ride Hyppogryph, Pick Up Archer and Dismount as the base skills. My main problem is, that everytime the Mechanist ride the G.A.U., the hero dies. And when i use the Dismount skill, the hero is reborn and as considered a seperate hero from the first hero. So if i always use the skills, Icons of the Mechanist will pile up in the left side. Can anyone tell me what to do? i just want to get rid of the hero-dying thing. ^^

I would suggest triggering the whole mount/unmount thing.
Use a dummy ability instead of an actual ability.
