I just joined then in the hope someone may have the answer to a problem I can't overcome. For those familiar with the wc3 world editor (must be a lot here), I'm trying to change the in game minimap. Not the loading screen minimap image, but the actual in game one.

I'm using the 'set camera bounds' trigger to show only a small portion of the map (the overworld to an rpg) and want to hide the dungeons on the edge of the map. I can do this using this action, but the only problem is the minimap won't set itself to these bounds, it displays the whole map, but resizes it so it shows your unit marker walking across the entire mini map, even if he's only moving over a small section I locked the camera bounds to.

So basically, is there a 'set mini-map bounds' action... just with a different name? Or a process I can use (without JASS) to achieve this goal. Thanks for reading this if you do I know it's a huge post.

Without jass - no.

Things you can do:

Hide creep camps - Hide units (that means going though the object editor and hiding all of them via that true false statement something along the lines of "hide on mini-map".

I've seen only one game where a person inserted a different image than their map.

Unfortunately the map was protected so I could never figure out how to do that exactly.

I image that the process requires importing an image file in Blizzard format, then changing a setting in the Advanced Interface or Game Constants one of them might control what image is displayed on the minimap. I do know you can change other parts of the game interface through there.
