Hello my dear Hive Overlords. Im developing a map with a friend and we had this idea that we could make 2 separate maps on 1 big map (its a TD) and the players could vote at the start on which map we gonna play and then the camera bounds would get locked to that zone. Now what the problem is, the minimap shows the entire map, and when we set the camera bounds to only 1 map, the minimap still keeps showing both maps, but the second map is unclickable since the camera bounds only let you move around the bounds. We would like to make the minimap work in the way that it changes to only showing the 1 map selected, but im not sure if the WC3 Editor can even make it happen.....

so..... can it? is this possible?

By replacing war3mapMap.blp (the classic way) it's not possible, it will be the same map to all players regardless of different map camera bounds set in every player.

However this may be possible if you use the new natives introduced in 1.31 and make a custom UI for every player, each player should have different map image at the bottom left of the screen and remove the default minimap, although I'm not sure if it is possible to make it work like the default minimap (clickable and ping-able minimap, creep showing in minimap etc.) or only static image in the UI.

Easiest solution would be saving both minimaps as blp then changing the texture of minimap with the new natives. You also need to draw units, buildings, and some other dynamic stuff. However that way you won't be able to detect explored regions in minimap.
