I am new to this site, so as I'm new to the terraining section.
I hope you guys like these Images.

I'll update the screenshots over time with new and new stuff.

These are all from one scene, but from different angle.

I know this terrain does not have fog, but I felt not to use it.
Also, I made this terrain like 6 months ago, or so.
I've gained more skills since then thanks to some good terrainers from
hive, like Craka_J

The Explorers

A group of explorers just found an ancient temple within a jungle.
It's dark, and spooky. :slp:

Update :

2 Screenies from my Urban Horror Map

A retired policeman wakes up one morning, finding the small city ruined.
He brakes into the police station to recover a suit and he dives into action.
The game contains explicit violence and gore.

The lack of fog doesn't hurt the picture much, still looks nice, but I think you should try a slight fog.

Don't like the blizzard cliffs at all. Ugly. Use raise ground tool.

Your use of doodads is very good, but I would add even more. The trees are ugly, Blizzards fault not yours, so I suggest using a custom model. Unless this is supposed to be a no-imports. I have a huge respect for no-import terrain.

Good work, but not rep worthy yet.

Terrains#1
The Good
  • Temple made out of arches is well made.
  • Well made atmosphere so far.
  • The sky blends well with the terrain, reducing the need of a fog. (Though fogs should always be included in your terrains)
  • A fair amount of doodads. Everything placed blends well with each other pretty much.
The Bad
  • Use of Blizzard's Cliffs is not very wise, unless using the square cliffs such as the Cityscape cliff.
  • No fog used. The addition of a fog can really make an atmosphere look so much more real and amazing.
The Ugly
  • I see a few floating doodads such as trees and some props.
  • The tower in the center of the temple is not centered enough. It is too far to the side.
  • Not enough environmental doodads.
  • Poor tile variation.
The Terrains#2
The Good
  • Scaling of doodads is realistic.
  • Good use of doodads. Some weren't so good though.
  • Use of fog was good, good color of fog too.
  • Fog blends with sky.
  • Nice choice of custom models.
The Bad
  • Tiles do not blend very well with doodads and the rest of the terrain.
  • Some doodads such as the obstacle doodad doesn't blend very well with the terrain.
  • The grass under houses is a bad idea.
The Ugly
  • Everything in "The Bad" section pretty much applies for this area as well.

The new ones aren't as good IMO. Parts of them are good, but you ruined them with ugly WC models. The grass under the buildings is really ugly. I suggest changing it.

I always wondered where you guys get those houses? i can't find any good house that looks like a flat from this age.. Where you get them? :p

The terrain looks quite ok, only what the thing is that the temple may be the only thing that is 'Special' and draws much attention because the rest of the terrain is just 'above basic'. Overal good, keep going on!

I definitely agree that the first three are good. The other two got ruined pretty much because of the bright tiles with the dark doodads and then mixing the dark custom doodads with the cartoony WarCraft III doodads only made it worse. You're good with making this work with the atmosphere just enough to get by, but there's still room for improvement.

Well I'm working on it...
Since I lack the needed urban models, I combined them.
Though that project is now on hold, I am working on a new RPG styled mod.

I'll upload screenies from that one soon.

Your terrain is excellent, but the city terrain is too "clean". Add stuff at the streets, like trash, rails, rats, dump, etc. A violent place like that is priobably dirty, huh??

Well... the other things were already said by Cracka, HappyTauren and Gilles.

Nice Job! Keep Praticin'!!
