So bascially i've been working all damn day on a map.
And i wanted to see if Hive had any AirStrike type spells in the spells section.
I downloaded the only one that was there..
Before opening it, i saved my map.
Then i closed world editor, and opened the downloaded map. Messed with it a little bit, then closed it.. When i closed it, it asked me if i wanted to save or someting like that.. I just hit cancel and closed WE.

Upon opening my map in WE again, i was greeted with the map i had just downloaded.. Kind of baffled, i tried again with the same result.. Started to worry a bit, i checked the deleted map to see if they somehow got swapped.. No. So i delete it, and restart my computer.

But my map hasn't returned. I have no idea what happend, but if anyone has had this happen or know something i can try.. please, i'm all ears.

Did you test the map at all and if so, was it the last map you tested? If so, go to your Warcraft III folder, then Maps folder and then Test folder. Hopefully, the map inside is your map.

Well did you rename your map file with the downloaded map? If so im not sure there are ways of getting that back, then again I could be wrong. There is however ways of getting files back that have been deleted even from your recycle bins.

Yeah, didn't delete it.
It just got replaced. I've done some dumb things with WE but that was the worst. I just wish i could recover it somehow.

I suppose it could have moved to a different folder. It may/may not have happened to me once... I have a terible memory. there are a lot of default folders you will want to check, or just go thru all of your maps on WE to see if they are yours XD
but I doubt the name would have changed... unless you save it wrong/differently
