My first CTRL+Page up/down creations!

Yes nothing spectaculair to announce but i just fucked with the CTRL + Page up/down things and made some things i've never made before and some turned out to be quite funny

Heh, the skull pile and the statue of liberty are particularily good You should have tinted the statue the right shade of green though

hehe i just made these in rly little time .. i will look if i can make more funny things with it xD ... anyone knows how to make doodads go 'Horizontal' and make them 'Vertical' ?

Press CTRL and keep pressing a location. The doodad will face it until you stop pressing CTRL.

Someone also said maybe i could create a whole city of barrel-houses stairs and such .. maybe not even a bad idea..

Until now im only experimentating with the CTRL + Page/up down button

even basic terraining for maps can use this to a good extent, im making a map where units can walk on the roots of the world tree model and hop across mushrooms growing on the side of the tree

Ok, I tried doing this.. And can't get it. Do you do ctrl + pup and ctrl + pdo while you are placing it or while editing something? lol I really wanna make shit like wand is doing

Here is more,i managed to create a barrel tower with a peasant,catapult and a mortar team upon it the summit surrounded by fences and a stairs made of Tables and Summit entrance ladder of Hitching posts

It doesnt look this good because its still practice and experiments aye xD

Well, seeing these ones ... I got a question ... is there a way to add shadows to these "unit/doodads" like this catapult or mortar team ... the only option I thought of, is to create a Doodad like these ones, and just give them the "shadow" model ... after this you just page it up, to right positon ...

You mean you want the shadow for the whole thing? .. or the shadow of one barrel ? .. well .. acctualy i think its just a waste of time if you should try to add shadows ..

WC3 is too old for good shadow support.
The only way to make shadows for such a structure is to make a doodad with a small shadow and then paint with them unill you get your wanted shadow.
But that would be very slow and annoying. . .

very talented indeed mr mirror, i like the way you used tables as stairs, i didnt notice until last picture, and you seem to like the usage of the model Peasant, i would prefer on top of the stairs to have an archer/gunman, that would look effective, but theres one prob. on the barrel tower the stairs get overlapped by a barrel

select a/many doodads hold CTRL and press Page Up/Down, if you have the standard english keyboard, not a mac then the Page Up/Down is situated by the Numlock and Keypad 7 button, the 2 Ctrl buttons are situated under either Shift Buttons

very funny barrel themed terrain. I like it. Now if that was playable thats be awesome. oh well. (or if you could make a cinimetch that floats the camera through the building showing all angles (kind of like when you start a campain match in Unreal Tournament...)

hint: you can make those stairs walkable in-game by adding invisible platform doodads and lifting them up

I havent been on WE for a whole week or so .. now i finaly have a week holiday i might not also work at my normal maps but just create somekind of barrel city or something we will see
