Moon

For some reason I opened the OrcEx Campaign Screen with Rexxar, and while looking through the textures (I guess I was bored) I found a moon texture. Then I made a search among the hives models and looked through all vertions of the UTM and found no moon. So I took an hour to make a moon. So here it is. Pretty much scratch made (always start any new mesh with a plane).

The light in the screenshot is made with fog effects. The light emitter of the model isnt that bright.

Give credits if you use it.

BTW: Add a little yellow tinting color in WE to make it look like Cheese. :crazz:

UPDATE: I doubled the amount of faces and then I doubled it again, causeing a filesize increase of aproximately 4 kB's.
UPDATE_2: I changed the wrapping to eliminate most of that black line on the side.
UPDATE_3: Added Birth and Death animation.

Cavman: As it stands it is acceptable. Though it has alot of pollies, it's still quite a bit smaller than most models on the site. A death animation would be nice, but not really needed. As a moon, it would ahve been better to been a billboared plain, but in this form it could be used as a terrain peice, like some kinda lumpy ground. So, that being said, approved.

personally, wouldnt it be better as flat, and billboarded? atleast if the aoe around the moon texture is clear..?

Let's say you had a terrain with the camera directed upwards. Should't it have different shading from that angle than if you see it from further away?
(That phenomenon doesn't happen too often unless you are right below the moon but anyway. The in some worlds the moon might be closer)
Personally I think a sphere shaped moon gives more oppurtunities for terraining.

No seriously. Do you have any tips on improvement or is it beyond repair?

I'm not sure if it's just the screenshot, I only briefly looked at it, but it just appears to be blocky, non-spherical, high in polys and the glow is just generally ugly.

I think it's designed for one view (looking towards it) too, which is also bad.

LOL u used a wisp as a moon (I think, cant see it properly). Anyways, onto this model... ITS AWESOME!!! If I were to use this in my game, how would I make it so you only see it when you scroll down? By the way, Wolfhelm, your wolf looks like it died several years ago and was resurrected into a skele-wolf. (ooh, I like that... erm, it's copyrighted by the way).
